Rabbi Richard Agler, DD, was ordained in 1978. He is the Founding Rabbi and now Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation B’nai Israel in Boca Raton. A sought-after speaker known for making complex ideas accessible and engaging, he has also taught accredited graduate courses in mysticism.
In addition to essays on Jewish thought, Rabbi Agler has published articles and letters on political ethics, interfaith relations, and baseball. Alongside his teaching and speaking, he currently serves as Co-Director of the Tali Fund and as Scholar Emeritus of Congregation Ohr HaYam /the Keys Jewish Community Center in Tavernier.
The Tragedy Test is his widely acclaimed first book. He is also the co-editor of A God We Can Believe In.
